Xi Kappa Sigma was founded on September 19, 1972, at the Mindanao State University (MSU) Main Campus in Marawi City. The fraternity was established by eighteen founding forefathers, led by Prof. Enlai T. Entar, just two days before the declaration of Martial Law via Presidential Decree No. 1081.

The founders envisioned the organization as an instrument to foster better brotherhood and sisterhood between Christian and Muslim students at Mindanao State University.

Core Objectives

• The organization aims to support government policies dedicated to maintaining peace and order by:
• Fostering close and harmonious relationships among its members, regardless of tribal, racial, or religious affiliation.
• Establishing strong relations and cooperation with other individuals, organizations, private entities, and government agencies.
• Partnering with any group willing to extend friendship and cooperation to the organization and its members.

Expansion and Chapters

In 1979, several pioneering members of Xi Kappa Sigma expanded the organization’s membership outside of Mindanao State University by establishing the following chapters:

Eta Chapter (Urios College, Butuan City) – Established by Dr. Amanodin D. Esmail , CPA, of the Alpha Chapter.

Sigma Chapter (Cotabato City) – Established by Bro. Abolais Gomogoya of the Rho Chapter.

Iota Chapter (St. Peter’s College, Iligan City) – Established by Fa Marco Ulama of the Alpha Chapter.

Phi Chapter (University of Mindanao, Tagum, Davao del Norte) – Established by Bro. Dimasira Solaiman, CPA, of the Alpha Chapter.

Alpha Gamma Chapter (University of the East, Manila) – Established by Fa Marden T. Entar of the Alpha Chapter.

This expansion continues under the supervision of the current National President, Bro. Dimalipuz P. Bandingan, CPA  of the Gamma JPI, Marawi City Chapter.

Modern Impact and Purpose

Today, Xi Kappa Sigma has produced more than 50,000 student leaders, professionals, and academicians across 91 campuses nationwide. The organization continues to pursue the following purposes:

• To encourage leadership training, efficient service, and excellent scholastic standing.
• To inspire the attainment of high academic achievements.
• To promote the social and economic welfare of its members, their families, and their respective communities.
• To ensure the continuous manifestation of the core values of friendship, unity, and cooperation.
• To encourage virtue, humanitarianism, and solidarity.

International Recognition and Legal Status

Xi Kappa Sigma declared its International Day on February 22, 2002, during the 1st MINSTUN MACPHIL held at Lido Beach, Cavite. The historic event was attended by more than 300 alumni participants.

Simultaneously, the organization secured its official legal status under SEC Registration Number A200203119, signed and accredited under the leadership of Bro. Lim D. Masbod, DPA of Delta Rho MSU-LNCAT Chapter. This milestone empowered the organization to spread its global advocacy: strengthening member scholarships, promoting brotherhood and sisterhood, developing leadership, engaging universities and colleges in community service, and building the character and integrity of its members under the guiding tenets of Friendship, Unity, and Cooperation.
